Stanley Gets Lost – and Found – in Paris

December 4, 2002
Dear Mrs. Godjikian’s Class,
stanley_in_parisLast week my husband and I went to Paris. I am an author, and I had been invited to France to give a talk about my books. We were walking down the Champs-Elysees, a big beautiful street there, when suddenly I stepped on something. ..or, rather, someone.Under my foot was Flat Stanley!

I knew right away that Flat Stanley had probably gotten lost. Maybe he was staring at the Arc De Triomphe,

right down the road. ..or having a hot chocolate at one of the many cafes along the street. I put him into my backpack, and he spent the rest of the vacation with us -going to the palace at Versailles, to the Louvre, on a boat trip on the Seine River, to the top of the Eiffel Tower. He was very happy to come along on our vacation, but he is beginning to miss his family. ..so we are sending him back to you.I have attached the picture of Stanley with Jodi (his temporary hostess) on the Champs-Elysees.

Sincerely,
Debbie Hewitt
