Flat Stanley Visits the Blood Bank 2When a patient needs blood, the scientists check the patient’s blood type. Then a unit of a compatible blood type is chosen. The unit of blood is checked against the patient’s blood, to make certain no dangerous reactions happen. Then the patient can get the unit of blood. The scientists put the mixtures of blood in test tubes, and use a centrifuge (this machine) to check for the dangerous reactions. |
